Reverberation Chamber, OATS, and Anechoic Chamber User Group
(ROACH) Attendee Registration

October 30-31, 2018
Technical Program & Registration
Thank you to all of our presenters, attendees and exhibitors for another great ROACH meeting.

Building on the success of the previous ROACH meetings in Seattle in 2014 and 2016, the 2018 meeting retains its reputation as a critical “think tank” for leaders in the EMC industry. Fundamental and advanced topics regarding reverberation chamber, anechoic chambers and TEM cells will be presented, including the latest, emerging technology on fully lined anechoic chambers. Advancing technology shows increasing promise over the traditional semi-anechoic chambers used to simulate the performance of an Open Area Test Site (OATS). For smaller test items in limited test lab space, TEM and GTEM cells are a desirable solution because they do not require changes in frequency ranges, especially GTEMs.
Highlights of the 2018 preliminary agenda include:
TECHNICAL PROGRAM:
Tuesday, October 30 (8:30 am - 5:00 pm) AND Wednesday, October 31 (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
As with the two previous editions of the ROACH meeting, Vignesh Rajamani with Exponent is chairing the two day technical program. Speakers represent industry, academia and government. The preliminary technical program of invited speakers and topics will be announced on August 24, 2018. For a complete agenda and the additional topics of the papers to be presented at the meeting, visit this page after September 30, 2018.
Back by Popular Demand! Keynote Presentation on Tuesday morning, October 30:
Millimeter Wave Machine Measurements and Simulations: Summary of a Study Sponsored by
the National Academy on Scanner Measurements Performed at Four TSA Chosen Airports
By Brian M. Kent, Ph.D., Fellow, IEEE, AMTA, AFRL
EXHIBITION:
Tuesday, October 30
Thursday, November 1 (10:00 am - 1:00 pm)
TENTATIVE: Technical tour of the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA
In addition to the two full days of technical presentations, a technical tour is TENTATIVELY planned of the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. The Museum of Flight has more than 150 aircraft in its collection, including the Personal Courage Wing (PCW) with 28 World War I and World War II aircraft from several countries including Germany, Russia, and Japan. The museum also houses the famous Boeing "Red Barn", a registered historic site also known as Building No. 105. Built in 1909, the building was used during the early 1900s as Boeing's original manufacturing plant. Through photographs, film, oral histories, and restoration of work stations the exhibits in the Red Barn illustrate how wooden aircraft structure with fabric overlays were manufactured in the early years of aviation and provides a history of aviation development through 1958. In June 2007 the Museum opened a new space exhibit: "Space: Exploring the New Frontier", which traces the evolution of space flight from the times of Dr. Robert Goddard to the present and into future commercial spaceflight.
Boeing’s Dennis Lewis will coordinate a special tour for ROACH attendees if there is enough interest to allow for a group tour. If you are interested in taking this group tour, please contact Dennis Lewis at dennis.m.lewis@boeing.com by October 1. The approximate cost will be $25 per person for the museum entry fee. Lunch is on your own.
