Flexible Waveguide

The Waveguide Solution flexible waveguides are designed to isolate vibration, eliminate
installation difficulties caused by misalignment and to provide a simple aid to
positioning and alignment of antennas.
Both flexible/twist and flexible only are made from a helically wound waveguide core
and additional mechanical support is offered from a variety of protective jackets.
The Waveguide Solution also manufacture a range of high performance double ridge
flexible and flexible / twistable waveguides.

Waveguide Attenuators
|
The Waveguide Solution offers a range of Low Power Fixed and Infinitely Variable
Attenuators as well as the range of Laboratory Standard Precision Variable Attenuators.
All items are of compact design and are manufactured from brass;copper and aluminium
versions are available upon request.

Waveguide Directional Couplers
|
The Waveguide Solution offers a range of Directional Broad Wall, Side Wall and Cross
Guide Couplers in 3 and 4 port configurations. All couplers have been designed to
offer low VSWR, flat response and high directivity over the entire designated waveguide
band. Improvements in directivity and coupling value tolerances can be made for
specified narrow band applications.

Waveguide Flanges
|
The flanges are based on the major international flange interface specifications,
and TWS also have many of the more obscure standards and customer specific flanges
on record. Standard flanges are available in Brass or Aluminium and other materials
on request. Certain designs are available from stock to provide a minimum delivery
lead-time.
TWS offer technical support at the design stage to ensure the most suitable flange
is chosen for every application.

Waveguide Pressure Windows
|
Three types of pressure window are availiable :
Glass reinforced PTFE windows and are suitable for pressures up to 40 psi. Windows
for standard rectangular waveguide sizes have a VSWR better than 1.10:1 over the
full waveguide bandwidth, or 1.05:1 over a 50% bandwidth. Double Ridge sizes have
a VSWR better than 1.10:1 over an octave bandwidth, or 1.15:1 over the full frequency
band.
Kapton windows are available for lower pressures and offer improved performance,
typically better than 1.05:1 over the full waveguide bandwidth.
Quartz windows are available for very high power requirements.

Waveguide Horns
|
The Waveguide Solution offer a range of standard gain Horns from WG10 (WR284) to
WG22 (WR28) in three values, 10dB, 15dB and 20dB. These horns are fully compatible
to horns manufactured by Quasar Microwave and Mid Century Microwave when calibrating
using the "2 antenna method". The physically larger sizes are predominantly
fabricated in brass. WG16 through to WG22 are generally electroformed in copper
in order to maintain the tight tolerances for these smaller waveguide sizes.

Waveguide Load Terminations
|
Standard Fixed Loads: The waveguide loads devices are manufactured
from selected waveguide tube. The flange interface is precisely controlled to offer
the optimum performance.
Sliding Loads: The standard sliding loads are assembled in the same
way as the standard fixed loads using selected waveguide tube and precise positioning
of the flange interface. Operation of the sliding element is by a push/pull mechanism
and a locking screw is provided for repetitive measurements.
High Power Loads: Designs for a limited range of rectangular high
power/medium power loads are available on request.

Waveguide Rigid Components
|
Precision Straights: A range of standard length waveguide straights
in a variety of materials. The high performance is based on the use of selected,
sized, tube, careful assembly and selective tuning where necessary.
Precision Bends: The precision bends have been designed to offer
the optimum performance based on an average length and bend radius. All bends are
precisely assembled to ensure the highest performance.
Compact Bends: A set of specifications has been provided to offer
the minimum radius bend available for both "E" and �H� plane bends in the respective
frequency range.
Precision Twists: The precision twists have been designed and precisely
assembled to offer the optimum performance based on an average length and twist
angle. They are available in clockwise and anticlockwise orientations.

|
The Waveguide Solution range of Tee Junctions offers a variety of compact designs.
All items are fabricated from Brass waveguide tube or machined from copper or aluminum
block. Alternative versions are available upon request.

Waveguide Co-Axial Transitions
|
The Economy range of adapters are offered for most everyday usage. Using Low Power
connectors the Economy version offers a good compromise between performance and
cost. To maintain the lowest prices, the economy version is offered in Aluminium,
Unpainted. Painting and Silver Plated (Brass) versions are available at extra cost.
It is possible to offer improved performance specifications for narrow band options.
Precision Adaptors are offered to suit laboratory or test bench applications. The
precision version is manufactured from brass and is silver-plated and painted with
attractive, hard wearing, epoxy paint finish as standard. Each adaptor is tuned
to offer the highest possible performance over the full waveguide frequency band.
(Improved performance over a narrower bandwidth is available).

Waveguide Taper Transitions
|
The Waveguide Solution offers a standard range of Waveguide to waveguide Taper Transitions.
All designs have been optimized to offer high performance within a compact outline.
Double Ridge tapers are machined from aluminium or brass while the rectangular tapers
are either fabricated from brass, aluminium or copper. Other designs of Non-Linear
tapers are available on request. The TT series of transitions are manufactured to
the highest quality standards.
